Article on North HS ECASD by Madeline Fuerstenberg, The Leader-Telegram, Eau Claire, WI
We wanted to highlight an article published by Madeline Fuerstenberg in the Leader-Telegram in Eau Claire, WI that highlights a student and teacher we work with at North High School. Lindsey K. is the first student in Wisconsin to earn the Web Animator Certificate from Web Professionals Global.
It is a great article, and Madeline discusses the requirements for earning the certification: “In order to obtain the animator certification, an examinee must demonstrate basic knowledge of animation concepts; drawing and creation tools; audio, marketing, accessibility, animation project management; and ethics and legal issues during a 70-question, hour-long exam.”
The good news is with the new Learn and Earn model that teacher Doug Devine applied with Lindsey K, she earned the certification without taking the exam through her hard work. This is one of the ways Web Professionals Global is working to improve opportunities for all secondary students to earn those first critical industry credentials that help to open the doors to a student for their chosen career pathway.

Typically students would take the exam, however, our new model allows students to forego the exam for completing the course fully and following all the requirements building real-world projects. Additionally, the certification fees are underwritten through a partnership between the Web Professionals Global Organization, CTeLearning and other contributing web professionals.
Thank you again to the Leader-Telegram for the terrific article. It is so nice to see regional journalism highlighting the great work Wisconsin educators are doing and how their students are thriving.
