This new piece of legislation before the U.S. Senate would expand teacher training so there would be more Career and Technical Education instructors.
We want to shout out to Senators Tim Kaine of Virginia, Rob Portman of Ohio, Tammy Baldwin of Wisconsin and Shelley Moore Capito of West Virginia who are leading the way to introduce the Creating Quality Technical Educators Act.
This innovative and timely bill would create teacher residency grants, primary and secondary and post-secondary education partnerships ( elementary, middle and high schools and higher education institutions) to offer one-year teacher residencies to train prospective educators in CTE fields.
