SkillsUSA 2019 – The Nationals in Louisville – Web Design Competition Winners and 360 Images.

The 2019  SkillsUSA National Web Design Competition – It just doesn’t get any better than this.

The SkillsUSA Web Design competition had another fantastic year in Louisville. We enjoyed seeing the top High School and College level student Web Designers/Developers from all across the US competing.

While there our team enjoyed Louisville’s Mama’s BBQ, Silvio’s Italian, and way too much coffee and energy drinks to make sure we delivered on the promise of an incredible experience for our secondary and post-secondary competitors.

SkillsUSA Web Design 2019 - Web Professionals

Jonathan Worrent and Mark Dubois lead the charge this year, and I can honestly say things ran incredibly smooth. The competition runs smoothly due to all of the hard work that Mark and Jonathan put into the prep every year. Part of that prep went into the new “Server in a Box” that was tested last year got some beefing up for 2019. This expensive piece of tech allows the web design competition to run much like an actual web development work environment.Kudos to the server team of James Anderton and Jeff McCollum who made it all look so easy.

Interviews of future professionals conducted by today’s professionals.

The Kansas City contingent of David Jackson, Grant Schnettgoecke and myself focused on the On-Site team interviews. This was David’s 5th year, Grant’s 1st year ,and my 6th year judging. As always, we were again so very impressed with the caliber of competitors we see at SkillsUSA Nationals. I have no doubt that any of these competitors will get snatched up by web and tech companies as soon as they are ready to take their skills from the classroom to the workplace.

For many of the competitors this was their first experience being interviewed by professional web developers. The interviews add another dimension to the competition and another level of realism for the competitors to learn from. The WebProfessionals.org started the SkillsUSA competition in 2004 and have maintained a high level of authenticity to every aspect of the competition.

If you have not had the chance to see a SkillsUSA event, then you need to add it to your bucket list. If you are in a SkillsUSA and don’t have anyone competing in Web Design – then you are missing out.

If you are a state director for SkillsUSA, and you don’t know us – then let’s become friends. We can help you with your state level competitions.

Congratulations to all the competitors who earned the opportunity to come and compete at nationals. You all have the right to brag. Below are is a list of those who got recognized with national medals.
